CARD SHARKS (2019) is a revival of a classic game show where two contestants compete to win cash by guessing whether their cards are higher or lower than previous ones. By this I mean, there are always chances to practice tricks with those teaching them as well as a help button located in the corner of your screen. Something that I’ve personally enjoyed about this title is that it always wants you to succeed. I’ve been very invested thus far, so I’m hoping that the climax feels earned. I’d also really like to see the bizarre and hilarious characters continue to pour in as the story starts to come full circle. I want to learn more tricks and see what kind of scenarios play out including them. I’m hoping that as I play, the game continues to unravel in the best of ways. There’s an easy option for those who just want to enjoy the game leisurely, a medium option for folks like me who want to play the game as it’s meant to be played, or a hard mode that deals higher consequences to you for messing up your trickery. The devs even allow players to test their skills as the game has 3 different difficulty options. This title has many layers to it that make it way more than as it appears at its surface. Everything I’ve seen so far though has been extremely fun, leaving me glued to my screen in anticipation of the next trick I’ll get to learn. There are very many different variations of these tricks and a slew of ones I have yet to mention as well as some I still have yet to come across in my playthrough. Instead, you’ll mess with card decks in order to gain a better hand, pretend to fill your opponent’s cup whilst signaling your partner of their hand, or cheat your mark at a simple game of Three-card monte. You won’t be learning how to read a table or lay cards strategically. Unlike most card games you’ll come across these days, Card Shark doesn’t focus on a specific card game in the slightest.

So we have written the upgrade codes, and now we can upgrade X number of SAP applications and databases as needed. We do have various other stuff as well, like upgrades. So it is just not limited to all those shutdowns and this. In our environment, we have SAP applications, and SAP has its own commands to shut down the applications, databases, et cetera. Earlier, when we used to have to manage it manually, when we shut down the application, it used to take a lot of time. The workflow has been created in such a way that it helps us. We shut down all our different applications by writing our code in the shell languages, and we upload through GitHub. We were in our van, and there was a low-rider at the bottom of a hill. Then he took a live call on the air from some Crips, who were like, “Yo, we’re coming to kill you.” At that point, we were out of there. I called Greg out on the air, saying that Hammer was his boy. I turned it around on Greg and said, “Why don’t you ask people out there who is doper, 3rd Bass or Hammer?” And it was overwhelming for 3rd Bass when people called in. But I couldn’t knock it, it was great radio. I was beyond pissed at Greg Mack about that, I told him to go f- himself. On the second day, we had an interview at KDAY, and they had Hammer call in. So if anyone tried to do anything, Pookie would be like, “It’s off.” Pookie was a lieutenant who was well-known throughout California. Luckily Russell had persuaded Mike Concepcion, who was a leader of the Crips, to bring in this guy Pookie to roll with us. They locked down the whole floor of the hotel we were staying at. SERCH: When we got to L.A., we heard that Hammer’s brother and the Crips had put out a hit on us. PETE: I’m actually the one who said the line about Hammer in the song, but Serch took the brunt of it. SERCH: There was a lot of drama with MC Hammer that resulted from that song. ![]() The gas face was when girls would suck their teeth and just walk away. That was an actual meeting we had with him. I did that with all of our meetings, just to hear all the bullshit they would say. PETE: I used to secretly record the guys at Def Jam. I didn’t know any of them before I met Mike that day. So that’s where all the Beasties’ disses on “Sons of 3rd Bass” came from. Two months later there was a piece in Spin and the writer asked them what they thought of 3rd Bass, and Mike D said how he threw shit at me and shooed me out. I was leaving his apartment and all of a sudden he started throwing shit at me, like foam balls and stuff lying around his apartment. They had gotten out of their Def Jam deal, and he gave me really good insight about Russell. One day I saw Mike D on the street and I ended up talking to him in his apartment, because I needed some advice. SERCH: The Beastie Boys were huge at the time. In this excerpt from the forthcoming book Check the Technique: Volume 2, Serch and Pete share the unexpectededly sensational stories behind a half-dozen classic Cactus tracks. That white kid from Queens was Pete Nice. I think you guys should work together.’ “ Serch recalls, “One day Sam called me and said, ‘Def Jam signed another white kid from Queens. Then all you have to do is mix the ingredients for the butter before roasting the turkey, so overall, this recipe is pretty easy. Brining the turkey allows it to cook faster, so there is some prep work involved and it's highly recommend to let the turkey brine overnight for the ultimate results. With fresh parsley, rosemary, thyme, and, of course, garlic, it's the perfect way to add more flavor to the perfectly turkey. What helps put it over the top is the addition of a savory garlic-herb butter. This recipe is foolproof and a classic, featuring a simple brine made with apple juice, brown sugar, rosemary, and thyme, representing the best of fall flavors. You're investing a lot of time and ingredients into making a showstopper of an entrée, so you need to pick the best recipe you can, especially if it's your first time roasting a turkey. There's a lot of pressure to make sure it comes out just right so as not to disappoint your family and friends. Let's face it: Picking a recipe to prep a whole turkey can be intimidating. Here are all 20 funding gaps prior to the current one, and why they happened. It wasn’t until a set of opinions issued by Attorney General Benjamin Civiletti in 1980 and ’81 that the government started treating “funding gaps”- periods when Congress has failed to allocate funds for the ongoing functions of government - as necessitating the full or partial shutdown of government agencies. The first six of those didn’t actually affect the functioning of government at all. Since then, Congress has failed to authorize funding for the federal government on 21 separate occasions. They first began as the result of the Congressional Budget Act of 1974. Government shutdowns are familiar to most Americans, but they’re a relatively recent development. His $5 billion isn’t enough for a full wall, but would block off 215 additional miles that are currently unfenced (in addition to the 120 miles the administration is currently building with existing funds). The partial shutdown began on December 22, 2018, with President Donald Trump’s demand for $5 billion to pay for his much-promised full-length border wall with Mexico, and while both parties in Congress had floated $1.6 billion as a compromise, Trump rejected it. ![]() With 22 full days down as of Sunday January 13, and no clear end in sight, the 2018-’19 shutdown has outlasted 1995’s (which ended after 21 days), previously the longest by a wide margin.
